Shaping Our Future

We are an Innovation-led, Technology-driven, Manufacturing Ecosystem for Power, Data, Water and Mobility, that empowers lives globally.

Group Overview

Our proud history as a family-owned, independent business stretches back almost a century. Today, we are an adaptive manufacturing company with expertise in building infrastructure (including electricals, lighting and more) and a global technology company that specialises in Artificial Intelligence services.

At Orel, we want to bring new possibilities to people and our planet through Power, Data and Water. As a group, we reimagine new possibilities to Empower Humanity.

Orel’s constant is change. Our transformation is driven by our believe in connecting people, products and technologies through innovation.
From our roots of 3 generations in Sri Lanka, we have made the global leap to move our Digital Headquarters to Singapore, the home of World Class International Headquarters.

Singapore is a gateway to the region and to the world, propelling entrepreneurial opportunities. This offers connectivity and a robust innovation ecosystem which pairs well with the manufacturing in other markets. In addition, Singapore has been ranked as one of the world’s leading forces in technological innovation.

With our increasingly global brand portfolios, our key brand architecture and designs are born out of Singapore today. Singapore will help us to better meet the needs of both the East and the West, being a gateway to growth opportunities in Southeast Asia, APAC and EMEA markets.
Research & Development
In 2023, we set up our Orel IT Global Techquarters in Dubai and the new OREL IT Global Innovation Center (GIC) in Colombo. These developments enable Orel IT to further R&D Capabilities, IOT, AI & EVs.

We are in the progress of developing the Orel IT Centre of Excellence (CoE) based in Sweden focusing in mobility. This has arisen from the joint partnership of Orel Group and Anodox Group, mainly focusing on mobility & technology management services.

Furthermore, we are currently in the process of working with Singaporean Research Institutes and a Tertiary Education institution on battery research. This collaboration aims to leverage on the ecosystems that bring together R&D, cutting-edge technology and top-tier talent.

In the future, we have plans for further expanding our global presence. We are in the initial stages of establishing R&D centers in both China and the USA. This strategic move is aimed at innovating new products and concurrently advancing our R&D initiatives in both regions.
Manufacturing
Our Orel Park Manufacturing facility dedicated to our Power Business, is based in Sri Lanka. Our facility encompasses the entire engineering design – from prototyping, simulation and QC Testing labs to injection moulding. We specialize in the production of electrical wiring devices (switches, sockets & allied accessories), switch gears, lighting solutions, IoT devices, LFP battery pack components and hardware, PVC products (piping & fittings, and trunking). R&D is also working on innovations such as IoT based smart agriculture, energy storage systems and e-mobility.
ESG
We have stepped up our sustainability efforts through the following three pillars in a concerted effort to achieve our sustainability goals.

Protect Our Planet

At Orel Park, we recycle water through rainwater harvesting. Our entire facility runs on solar power, fostering local biodiversity and creating an eco-friendly work environment. Additionally, most employees reside nearby, reducing their carbon footprint. Committed to our journey towards Carbon Neutrality by 2030, in 2023, we cut food waste by 35% through internal radio broadcasts, continually reminding teams about planet protection.

Tech for Good

Currently, we're developing Chiller AI to slash energy usage by up to 15%.

Fuel the Future

We've invested in Urban Agri Pvt Ltd. to develop container farms with vertical farming, combating food shortages and producing nutritious crops. Two containers have been deployed in the Maldives in 2024.
Power the Communities
By developing links with voluntary groups, local schools and colleges, Orel invests in education and the development of the community by offering work experience placements, giving talks and training sessions or vocational courses. For instance, CodeFest 2023 and IT Hogskolan in Sweden.

Orel conducted a blood donation drive at our facilities to ensure that the donated blood will be utilized to save countless lives in local hospitals and emergency care centers yearly. Food parcels were given to all blood donors and all who support the cause.
